2003-2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR - Automobile Magazine
If you're over twenty-six and don't play a lot of Grand Theft Auto, you're forgiven for not thinking Mitsubishi's Evolution MR is all that different. Aside from some color changes, new BBS aluminum wheels, and a vortex generator on the roof, it looks like the same old Evo.

Standard on all 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution models is a new electronic active center differential (E-ACD), designed to improve the Evo's responsiveness to varying road conditions by allowing the driver to select between pavement, snow, and gravel settings. Evolution variants are available. Prices start with a base, five-passenger Lancer going for less than $14,000, but stepping up to the level of the test Evolution MR means paying $34,199 plus $595 for delivery. Adding a spiffy dress-up package pushed the tester's price to $35,594. There are, needless to say, quite a few family-oriented, sporty and utilitarian vehicles out there at that price. The MR comes with red-on-black instrumentation that looks nice, but can be difficult to read at night. Little else about the interior layout and trim is objectionable, assuming you keep in mind it started life as an econocar. Once up to MR status, though, the Lancer Evolution MR becomes much more than an econobox.
